SUMMARY OF CONSTRUCTION WORK:

12/192025 Project Update.

SUMMARY OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL:

Changes expected beginning Week of 12/22/2025.

No Striping of Roadway today 12/19/2025 due to weather.

Roadway striping will be performed 12/22/2025-10:00 AM-8:00 PM.

EXPECT ADDITIONAL DELAYS THROUGH THE PROJECT ON 12/22/2025.

Opening of newly paved sections is scheduled 12/22/2025.

Cones will be used to delineate traffic lanes for a short period of time to allow for transitions to be completed and sections reopened.

Traveling public is asked to travel at Work Zone Speed Limit of 25 MPH while traveling through area.

Slow flaggers will be utilized during the Roadway Striping Day shift work. These flaggers are to aid in the safety of traveling public.

FAQ

When will the project begin?

The project began in mid-August 2023.

How long will the project last?

The projected completion date for the project is June 2025. Approximately 22 Months.

NEW: Does the project include constructing a roundabout?

No, the design does not include any roundabouts.

Will work be completed at night or during the day?

Day and Night shifts will be utilized. The contractor will be required to work shifts that have the least amount of impact to the traveling public based of the phase of work being performed at the time.

How many lanes of traffic will be closed during the project?

During construction there will be multiple lane changes and switching of traffic patterns. Lane closures and shifts are necessary to perform all phases of construction. During construction north and south traffic will flow through a guided work zone with work zone construction signs, cones, barrels, and barricades to aid in directing flow of traffic. Some closures will be between the hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The work zone speed limit will be 25 MPH.

Will pedestrian traffic be affected during the project?

Pedestrian traffic will be affected during certain stages of construction. During this time alternative routes may be required through the work zone with special attention to safety, However the contractor will be required to maintain access to all houses, schools, and businesses at all times.

As a business owner will I be notified when construction may interfere with my business location?

The Contractor will notify businesses of updates to changing phases of traffic control in a specific location. The contractor will be required to maintain access at all times.

If traveling to the area should I expect delays?

Please expect delays throughout the time frame of the project. Delays will be based on the current phase, location, and type of construction being performed daily. Delays are anticipated to be in early AM commute hours, Mid-Day hours, and PM commute hours.

Please do not block driveways and intersections.

Why does it appear that construction activities are slower at certain times?

Some phases of work will be performed at night. This gives the perception the contractor is not working during the day. However, work is being performed at night in lieu of normal day time hours.

Is the project on schedule to meet the contractual completion dates?

Currently, the project is under construction with some work beginning as early as August and September to move or relocate utilities. Construction on Sun Valley Drive and on WV 622 recently began. The project is proceeding on schedule.
